The frenzy and speculation clearly caused consternation in Florida as it triggered Riley to spring into action and, according to him, give the media something to “trend”. Nevertheless, the Spurs’ convincing win over Miami this year led to rampant speculation as to the state of the Heat team, in particular the fate of the big three, all of whom were reportedly considering leaving South Beach.
